The Osborn Foundation is hosting its fifth “Foundress Award Luncheon” honoring “Women Who Make a Difference” on Wednesday, September 26 at The Osborn in Rye, New York.

This year’s honorees are Donna E. Coletti, MD, Founding Medical Director of The Stephen and Betsy Corman Palliative Care Service at Greenwich Hospital and Joan L. Feinstein, Esq., Board Member of the League of Women Voters and SPRYE (Staying Put in Rye and Environs), as well as past Mayor of Rye Brook.
The Foundress Award was created in memory of Miriam Osborn whose vision was to create a gracious environment where women could live in retirement. The award is given to women in our community whose professional and personal achievements enhance the quality of life for seniors and their families.
Guest Speaker Julie Scelfo to Talk about Influential Women in New York
Guest Speaker, author Julie Scelfo
The guest speaker for the event is journalist Julie Scelfo, author of “The Women Who Made New York.” She will be talking about her book describing the long history of female trailblazers, artists and activists who not only made New York City the cultural epicenter of the world but shaped many of the ideas and social justice movements that fuel American society today. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and autograph at the event.
The Four Seasons Reading Room
Proceeds from the auction and luncheon will go to support the renovation and expansion of The Adams Library. This historic room serves as a central resource and meeting place for residents and staff. The library, an on-campus branch of the Westchester County Library system, will be expanded, with the enclosure of a southern facing porch, to become a four seasons reading room.
Additional proceeds will also support The Osborn Charity Care Program which provides care and residency on The Osborn campus for those who outlive their resources or cannot afford to pay from the outset. It also supports Osborn Home Care services for residents of The Osborn and seniors at home in both Westchester and Fairfield Counties who cannot afford to pay for care.
The Osborn Foundation’s mission is to provide philanthropic support for initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents of The Osborn, clients of Osborn Home Care, and seniors in our communities, including our Charity Care Program.
