As we get older, performing certain daily tasks is not as easy as it once was. Cooking, cleaning and laundry become taxing, often requiring more energy than before. Even bathing and dressing can become difficult once those physical limitations begin to arise.
And although family and friends may be willing to help, it can be wearing on them too. Quality time is replaced by chores and care time. Having your own personal care worker is a way to have ongoing care in your own home. That’s where Osborn Home Care comes in. Osborn Home Care starts by giving you a customized care plan to ensure that you or your loved one receive the services that best suit their needs, even as they change.
Our staff can help your loved one with all of the following:
In addition, Osborn Home Care has been training caregivers to provide a unique program specializing in dementia care. Caregivers receive in-depth, Person-Centered Care Dementia Care Training provided by an Alzheimer's Association certified trainer over a six-week period. Upon completion the caregivers can sit for an exam facilitated by the Alzheimer's Association Education center and receive certification in specialized care.
Osborn Home Care caregivers who go through the training are better equipped to handle some of the challenges caring for clients with dementia by providing them with useful tools for redirection, client engagement and cognitive stimulation for activities. Person-Centered Dementia Care is a way of providing care focused on knowing the unique person through a respectful, close relationship that fosters normalcy in their daily life, choice, purpose, belonging, security and strengths.
