Believe it or not, about a third of all non-profits raise between 26 – 50% of their annual funds from their year-end giving. It can be a huge boost to their annual fund, with many nonprofits reporting that nearly half of their annual funds comes from their year-end ask. An annual fund is what a nonprofit uses to pay for operational expenses. Since many of us procrastinate about our charitable giving, it’s a great time to catch up on your donations. It’s also your last chance to make a donation that will count for the current calendar year. Any donation made after 12/31 will be counted as a donation in the next year. So, don’t wait, give before year-end. It helps the charity and your tax return.
