The isolation of quarantine has been hard on those living alone without family and friends. The Osborn offers the best of community life, even during a global pandemic, as our residents will proudly proclaim.
Our WellSpring team is dedicated to helping residents stay engaged every day. There are so many programs and activities from which to choose. For those who enjoy time outside, our 56-acre arboretum campus offers nature walks, shady spots to read or draw, and small group activities – gardening, putting practice, croquet, discussion groups, even fashion shows by the fountain!
There are lots of ways to stay physically fit, too. We offer exercise classes for every level on our internal cable television channel directly into resident apartments throughout the day. The movie committee puts on first run films every afternoon and there are lectures on a range of topics from art history to animal behavior.
The Osborn houses a branch of the Westchester Library System. While our three library rooms are closed temporarily, residents can order books online to be delivered to campus. The beautiful, glassed-in Mauritz Reading Room offers a lovely spot to read a book or have a socially-distanced discussion with friends.
This is an unbelievable time and the family is glad we are here. I'm watching with the dogwood out of my window and an occasional eagle.
