The Osborn is pleased to display the award-winning watercolors of Swiss painter Brigitte Loritz in The Art Gallery @ The Osborn Rehabilitation Center. The show will be on display through October 5; all of the paintings are for sale. To arrange an appointment, contact Deborah Garvin(925-8218).
Ms. Loritz’s stunning work has been shown widely in the Hudson Valley and Sound Shore communities. She is on the faculty of the Rye Arts Center and is Artist in Residence for the Port Chester Council for the Arts.
Originally from Switzerland, Ms. Loritz studied at the Kunstgewerbe Schule in Zurich and attended Parsons School of Design in Manhattan. She refers to her style as semi-impressionistic. "Watercolor opens a door to endless possibilities,” she said. “The so called ‘lucky accidents' combined with planned compositions are
always challenging to me."
Ms. Loritz has paintings on display at General Electric’s home office in Stamford, as well as in private collections in the United States, Asia and Europe.
The Art Gallery @ The Osborn Rehabilitation Center features rotating exhibitions that showcase the works of contemporary artists from around our community. These exhibitions are mounted expressly for the enjoyment of The Rehabilitation Center’s patients, guests, residents and staff while supporting the local creative community and providing a unique opportunity to showcase their artwork to a mature audience.
The Osborn is proud to support the arts through a variety of programs and initiatives created for the cultural enrichment of their residents. For further information please contact Katie Gass, Curator at 914-925-8710.
