Gardening Can Be Murder by Marta McDowell is a fascinating look at the connection between gardens, writers and mystery novels. From Edgar Allan Poe to Agatha Christie to modern bestsellers, hundreds of our greatest mystery writers have found inspiration in the sinister side of gardens. Gardening Can Be Murder is the first book to explore this genre's many surprising horticultural connections. Marta teaches landscape history and horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden where she has been twice awarded Instructor of the Year. She is the author of five books and is the 2019 recipient of the Garden Club of America Sarah Chapman Francis Medal for outstanding literary achievement.
